Corporal Richard Findley

mourning%20band.jpgAs we are sure you are aware, yesterday a Prince George's County Police officer gave his life in the line of duty. Corporal Findley was attempting to apprehend suspects who were driving a stolen vehicle. He was hit by the vehicle and killed.

Members of the Cheverly Police Department are veterans of the county force. Corporal Findley's death--and the death of any law enforcement officer--reminds them, their fellow cops, and us, how encounters on the street can turn fatal in an instant. It reminds all of us of the mortal danger that police officers may face every day on every shift. It reminds all of us what it takes to walk the thin blue line.

Once here, be sure to click on the "View All Reflections" button. Corporal Findley was a man admired and loved by many. He was also a volunteer fireman and leaves behind a wife and two daughters; if you are the praying sort, please add them to your list.
